I've been using the Sony 10-18mm lens in addition to the kit lens- pics on instagram.com/summitfordayserichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10679317552765330615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489345242508072729.post-49404674882457118152016-11-11T14:29:18.707-07:002016-11-11T14:29:18.707-07:00I use a micro 4/3 body with a wide angle for my fa...I use a micro 4/3 body with a wide angle for my fast and light days with big views. It is so much lighter than a DSLR and still grabs great photos. I highly recommend. I think for skiing a dslr isn't too big of a deal but running with one is pretty bad. For any traverse in the Sierra I'm sure a dslr with a wide angle lens would deliver amazing pictures! It just depends on if you want to haul it around...

I'm not sure what the right answer is. My brother had a Sony A7 and I'm thinking of switching to something similar but just have pulled the trigger. Good luck!Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13096250743349554322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489345242508072729.post-84360226697506733932016-06-02T12:09:18.852-06:002016-06-02T12:09:18.852-06:00I'm a skimo/fastpacking enthusiast looking to ...I'm a skimo/fastpacking enthusiast looking to upgrade from my point-and-shoot to something better (but still lighter than my wife's D7000 w/18-200mm lens). what camera do you use as your "big" camera, and what lens(es) do you bring along for trips like this? Planning to do some big Sierran traverses this summer, and would love to get similarly good shots!erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10679317552765330615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4489345242508072729.post-26442409768465466142015-08-27T10:23:17.613-06:002015-08-27T10:23:17.613-06:00Thanks, carrying the big camera is always a pain! ...Thanks, carrying the big camera is always a pain!
