Race Skis...

I did 2 x's Great Western hard this AM.  Considering it was -14 mid mountain, I thought 28 mins each lap was a good effort.  I was rewarded on the way back to my car with this...
I'm not exactly sure how it happend.  But I do remember my other ski (undamaged) falling off and me landing on my back.  Junkshow.

  1. NOOO! Man I hope they have some kind of warranty seeing how I have the same ski. Hopefully you can get a replacement ski quickly.

  2. This is why I do not train on race skis (or my current ones, at least.) I learned this from Europeans who save their race gear for races. Yes, boots too. They will tell you that the life of these skis is not long with foam cores.

  3. Layne, I'll let you know about the warranty but I seriously doubt it.

Anonymous, I agree. Problem is those were my only race skis. If training for races it's important to use the gear (or similar back ups) you're going to race on. Training on heavier gear negativly effects cadence and stride.

  4. Just curious, when you mounted those PLUMs did you use epoxy in the screw holes?

  5. Ouch!
Hope it gets resolved favorably somehow, but I thought Atomic rando race skis aren't even distributed in the U.S.?

  6. Unfortunately the ski isn't distributed here, I got them on telemark pyrenees. I'm pretty sure that means I'll have to buy a new ski. Oh well.

  7. I know the return shipping is going to be costly (and time-consuming), and maybe rando race gear isn't covered, but T-P's customer service in the past for broken gear has been really good (even despite the ocean being in the way).
