4-13-2011 NW couloir, Timp 2nd Summit

A good look at part of today's objective
I got to ski with A. Okeefe on Timp again.  As always, the County didn't disappoint.  Last week while on Timp we scoped a line off of the ridge that heads east from the South summit.  Yesterday J. Knight gave us a little more info so we thought today would be a good day to give it a go. The skin up was quick and uneventful.

After reaching the base of the chute we were glad to find a few small rock bands to mess around on.

Once out of the chute we hit the ridge and traversed west to Timp's 2nd summit.

A quick ski back lead to a down climb through the rocks and then we skied powdery snow for a few thousand feet, nice.

Snow turned to slushy garbage lower down but we didn't care, it was a good day.  Later that night I went to Alta with Pop, Ky, Andy and Keith.  Keith cried at the beginning, Kyler cried at the end.  Fun/funny.

  2. I'm glad you like it! For the record, Keith wasn't really crying. He's actually leaving the lodge and skiing now!
